A gym membership costs between €25 and €40 per month, or €300 to €480 per year. The question, therefore, is not whether equipping your home gym is cheaper—it's arithmetic—but where to start without making mistakes.
The starting trio. A mat, a jump rope, and a set of resistance bands. For less than thirty euros, you cover cardio, full body strength training, and floor work. It's the functional equivalent of an entire gym, in a drawer.
What to add next. Once consistency is established—count on a month or two—the push-up board structures upper body work, then the pull-up bar opens up access to the back, which remains the most difficult muscle group to work without equipment.
The real beginner's trap is not buying too little, but buying too much at once. Unused equipment costs more than a subscription: it takes up space and reminds you of a failure every time you see it. Start small, add more when you feel the need.
